Weld County School District: Gaggle Keeps Watch

The Challenge:

As a small district with six schools that have about 2,000 students, Weld County SD’s staff members are maxed out, often wearing multiple hats. The school district was using an email filtering program that triggered a lot of time-consuming false reports and that didn’t act on student security.

They needed a way to monitor its students’ email and document-sharing activity. Making that happen would require a technology platform much more robust and capable than what it was already using.

The Solution:

The district’s Chief Intervention & Safety Officer insisted on using Gaggle to monitor one-to-one devices in the district, through Google accounts. Paired with a web filtering program, the solution handles 24/7/365 monitoring of students’ online activity.

The Results:

Since implementing Gaggle, multiple student situations have come to the administration’s attention, and the district has come to rely on its student safety platform. Administrators can now sleep better at night knowing that Gaggle is on watch.
