Gaggle Press Releases

Dallas, TX (December 15, 2021) - Student safety company Gaggle was named winner of the “Keeping Kids Safe Award” at the 2021 Supes’ Choice Awards hosted by the Institute for Education Innovation, an organization that serves as the bridge between district leaders and organizations to support the greatest challenges in K-12 education.

Gaggle was selected by a panel of esteemed superintendent judges from across the nation and was assessed based on Gaggle’s commitment to helping school districts manage student safety and protect children. The Supes’ Choice Awards are the only industry awards judged exclusively by school district superintendents. The full list of winners and finalists is available at www.supeschoice.com.

“It’s a huge honor to be recognized by superintendents as the top company helping keep kids safe in schools,” said Jeff Patterson, Gaggle’s founder and CEO. “This is such a crucial time to be paying close attention to student safety – so many kids are in crisis, and adults must be vigilant about keeping watch over children and providing important support whenever needed to help those who may be struggling. We’re grateful for the opportunity to work with so many districts nationwide to support safe digital learning spaces.”

Gaggle leverages a powerful combination of best-in-class artificial intelligence, machine learning, and a highly trained content review team to flag concerning content that K-12 students may be ingesting, receiving, or posting using school-provided devices and platforms, including Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft Office 365, Google Chat (formerly Google Hangouts), Microsoft Teams, and the Canvas learning management system. The tool is used by more than 1,500 school districts around the country to help identify and protect young children from threats of violence, self-harm, and suicide; child pornography, online predators, and sexual content; cyberbullying or other forms of online abuse; and drug or alcohol abuse.

“At IEI, we are committed to improving students’ outcomes and supporting effective, sustainable solutions to age-old problems in education,” said Doug Roberts, founder and CEO, Institute for Education Innovation. “The Supes’ Choice Awards provide a very unique opportunity for companies to not only get their products and solutions in front of district decisionmakers, but to also pursue recognition for their work with a prestigious, new industry award.”
