Bloomington, IL (January 4, 2017) – Symposiums on Student Online Safety, which took place in seven different cities across the country in 2016, are coming to California for the first time. The popular events will be held at three different locations during the last week of February.

Free for school and district administrators, cabinet members and other educators responsible for student online safety, the Symposiums on Student Online Safety provide opportunities for school leaders to learn more about keeping students safe, engage in strategic and tactical discussions and enjoy plenty of networking opportunities.

“We’ve scheduled three symposiums in California in one week so educators can choose the best location for them,” said Jeff Patterson, CEO of Gaggle. “As a Southern California native, I know we all want to avoid freeway congestion headaches on the 101, the 5, the 10, and the list goes on. Frankly, I wish we were doing more symposiums to make it even easier to attend.”

Upcoming Symposiums on Student Online Safety:

  • Monday, February 27, ABC Unified School District in Cerritos
  • Tuesday, February 28, Riverside County Office of Education
  • Wednesday, March 1, Santa Clara County Office of Education

Scheduled presenters include leading California educators, Common Sense Education, the local offices of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and the law firm of Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost LLP (F3). F3 assists school districts throughout the state with the challenges and complexities presented by the digital revolution, providing the legal expertise to help education leaders avoid costly missteps.

“We didn’t think twice about hosting a Symposium on Student Online Safety,” said Dr. Colin Sprigg, Director Information & Technology at ABC Unified School District. “The topic of student online safety is so important today. I encourage technology administrators, superintendents and other district leaders in the state to come to Cerritos or another symposium that’s most convenient for them.”
