SALAMANCA — The Salamanca City Central School District and Gaggle on Tuesday announced a partnership to keep students safe when they use Microsoft Office 365.

The school will use the Gaggle safety management solution for Office 365 to proactively protect students and ensure they are safely and correctly using school-provided digital tools.

The Gaggle safety management solution uses a combination of artificial intelligence and trained safety experts to provide real-time analysis and review of students’ use of online tools within the G Suite.

Since 1999, Gaggle has been the leader in helping K-12 districts manage student safety on school-provided technology. It constantly scans accounts for harmful content and alerts school officials when students show signs of self-harm, depression, thoughts of suicide, substance abuse, cyberbullying, credible threats of violence against others or other harmful situations.

With this solution, the district can proactively identify students who are struggling, provide support where needed, and create a safer school environment.

Dr. Mark Beehler, superintendent of schools, said Gaggle is one more step the district is taking to support students and staff and to ensure they provide a safe learning environment for all members of the school community.

“Gaggle is a national leader in prevention and support for school districts and while the system uses various forms of technology, it is important to note that human eyes still assess the alerts,” he said.
