New Product Updates Designed to Help Schools Support Students Faster

Written by Gaggle | Mar 18, 2026 9:07:00 PM

At Gaggle, our goal is simple. Help schools identify students who may need support and make it easier for teams to take action when it matters most.

Over the past several months, our product team has been working on a series of updates designed to make the Gaggle platform faster to use, easier to navigate, and more effective at identifying potential safety concerns.

These updates focus on three key areas:
1. Improvements to the Gaggle platform experience
2. Expanded protection across the student digital environment
3. New deep threat detection technology that analyzes the full context

Below is a closer look at all of the changes we've made.

1. Platform Improvements That Help Teams Respond Faster

Many of the updates in our spring release focus on making it easier for school teams to review information, manage incidents, and collaborate.

When staff can quickly understand what is happening and where support may be needed, they can intervene sooner and help students more effectively. These are the product releases we're rolling out this spring:

Student Profile The new Student Profile provides a centralized view of a student’s information and incident history. This makes it easier to identify patterns, understand context, and make informed decisions about next steps.

Personalized Incident Reminders delivered weekly to highlight unresolved incidents and help ensure students receive timely support.

Redesigned Incident List View that is faster and easier to navigate.

Redesigned User List that makes managing users more simple and efficient.

Improved Screencastify settings so alerts are converted into an accessible format that can be reviewed directly, saving time and reducing frustration.

Gaggle Archive Migration of email-only Archive customers into the Gaggle Portal. This migration will bring improved search, user management, and role-based controls that make Archive easier and more intuitive.

Expanded Archive Roles and Permissions will provide additional role options for Archive access so multiple staff members can search, export, and manage holds. Teams will be able to handle FOIA and records requests more efficiently.

Ongoing Web Filter Enhancements including improved site categorization, more accurate filtering, fewer exceptions to manage, and reduced administrative overhead.

2. Protection Across the Student Digital Environment

Students learn, communicate, and create across many platforms and devices throughout the day. Effective student safety protection must reflect that reality. Gaggle provides layered coverage across accounts, devices, and web activity to help schools maintain visibility wherever students are working.

24/7 Account-Based Protection
Students are protected anytime they are logged into their district-provided Google or Microsoft accounts. This protection continues whether they are working at school or at home, helping maintain consistent visibility into potential safety concerns.

Device-Level Monitoring with Microsoft Agent
Our new Microsoft Agent expands coverage beyond browser-based activity. It monitors district-managed Windows devices directly, helping close potential monitoring gaps.

Guardrails for AI and Expanding Web Activity
As AI tools proliferate, new risks can emerge. Gaggle’s Web Activity Monitoring identifies concerning searches, prompts, and interactions so districts can address emerging risks tied to AI usage.

Quarantined Content and Expert Review
When nude or sexually explicit images involving minors are detected, the content is securely quarantined by Gaggle’s trained Safety Team. This ensures sensitive material is handled appropriately while allowing schools to address potential safety concerns.

Real-Time Response with the Gaggle Mobile App and Portal
The Gaggle Mobile App and Portal allow designated staff to receive and respond to alerts in real-time. This improves collaboration between teams and helps districts respond quickly during urgent situations.

Monitoring workflows and alert routing can be customized to align with each district’s structure. Schools can define who receives alerts, escalation pathways, and building-level visibility.

3. Introducing Deep Threat Detection

Gaggle has made significant investments in improving how potential safety concerns are identified.

Most digital safety systems rely primarily on keyword lists to identify risk. Keywords remain valuable, but they do not always capture the full context of what a student may be communicating.

Gaggle’s new proprietary Deep Threat Detection technology analyzes the broader context and sentiment within student files and messages. This approach allows the system to identify concerning situations even when specific keywords are not present.

This change is not expected to increase district alert volume. Instead, it improves how potential risk is identified and evaluated. In some cases, districts may receive alerts that do not contain a specific keyword because the alert was generated based on the overall context or sentiment of the content.

As with all Gaggle alerts, our trained Safety Team reviews each incident before it is escalated to your district. Human review remains a critical part of ensuring alerts are accurate and actionable.

Continuing to Support Schools and Students
Every update we release is guided by the same goal: helping schools protect and support their students.

By improving the tools districts use every day, expanding coverage across the digital environment, and investing in more advanced detection technology, we are working to ensure schools can identify concerns early and intervene when students need support.

If you would like to learn more about these updates, join us for our upcoming product session on March 25, where we will walk through these changes in more detail.

What's Next?

Along with all of these recent improvements, the product team has even more on the horizon. Gaggle customers can look forward to improved AI context in reporting and filtering, more comprehensive incident summaries with sentence extraction, proactive student safety signals, and more!
