Gaggle has been providing safe online learning products and solutions to the K-12 market since 1999. Our focus is, and always has been, on student safety so educators can have the confidence to allow learners to take advantage of current technology for communication, collaboration and learning.

The Gaggle Story

As an entrepreneur in the field of technology and education, Gaggle’s founder, Jeff Patterson, wanted to bring the power of digital communication to schools to engage and motivate students. Understanding that student safety was a primary concern for schools in allowing the use of email and other tools, Jeff created a system that identifies suspicious items and allows control and transparency for teachers and administrators.

Since the inception of Gaggle as a student email provider, the company has grown significantly adding products that help schools create safe digital learning environments. When asked why he chose the name “Gaggle,” Jeff replies: “Our goal was to give teachers an easy way to watch over their gaggle of students, hence the name Gaggle.” Jeff’s vision of student-centric schools using cutting-edge technology to inspire creativity and ingenuity remains the driving force in Gaggle’s ongoing story.

Jeff Patterson Founder & CEO

Jeff Patterson is the founder and CEO of Gaggle, a leading educational technology company specifically created for K-12. Since its inception as a student email provider in 1999, Jeff has successfully grown the privately held company based in Bloomington, IL, to more than 60 employees located across the country. The company provides safety products for G Suite for Education and Office 365, professional development, school and district websites, and archiving solutions to thousands of schools and millions of users.

Aaron Hughes Aaron Hughes Chief Technology Officer

Aaron Hughes is responsible for fostering Gaggle’s technical innovations and overseeing the engineering and operations teams. Aaron has two decades of experience in senior product development, technical architecture and management positions in both early stage technology startups and large technology enterprises. While an Enterprise Architect at Sun Microsystems, he co-invented patented technology in the field of distributed data management.

Ron Zoibi Chief Financial Officer

Ron Zoibi brings more than 20 years of experience providing strategic and operational leadership that has consistently driven top and bottom line results creating shareholder value for CEOs and investors. Prior to joining Gaggle, he was the CFO of ghSMART where he led the firm to 10x growth over 13 years. Ron was also the CFO for the largest sports disability insurance company in North America and has held a variety of roles in management information systems consulting and public accounting.

Heather Durkac Vice President, Operations

Heather Durkac is responsible for operations at Gaggle. Her teams include award-winning customer service, account management, training and Safety Management, all with an overall goal to support Gaggle customers to ensure they are getting the most out of our products. Heather brings over 15 years of experience in customer relations and training from both the corporate sector and the K-12 environment. She is also responsible for the development, implementation and presentation of onsite professional development.

Bill McCullough Vice President, Sales

Bill McCullough leads Gaggle’s national sales efforts. Bill is a seasoned sales professional with over two decades experience in education and commercial accounts. Prior to joining Gaggle, he was Vice President at Odysseyware, a provider of online curriculum and learning solutions. Bill also spent time as a Regional Vice President at CompassLearning, which followed a 13-year career in various management roles at IBM.

Rob Yoegel Vice President, Marketing

Rob Yoegel is a content strategist, skilled writer, digital publishing professional, effective communicator and marketer who embraces and enjoys new technology. He has developed an award-winning content marketing program and spent more than two decades building successful content, sales, and marketing programs for publishing and software companies.
