Using Responsive Design to Create Award-Winning Websites

Committed to a digital conversion, Rowan-Salisbury Schools found success with a 1:1 initiative, but quickly realized that the devices they gave students weren’t able to properly view the schools’ websites.

Within a few months, the district re-launched 35 websites and a district portal using School & District Websites from Gaggle, developed and designed exclusively for K-12. Since the re-launch, every teacher in Rowan-Salisbury has a web page, which are now easy to manage and update. All of the sites use Responsive Web Design and the school district website has been recognized by the North Carolina Public Relations Association.

There were three major reasons to make the switch to a new web hosting provider:

  1. lack of Responsive Web Design
  2. slow page load times
  3. difficulty creating and editing web pages
