Gaggle and the American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA) today announced the results of a survey that reveal school officials are paying more attention to the safety of their students when using educational technology.
A new series on Showtime will feature an episode about people’s interactions with the Internet, including individuals employed as digital moderators, known as Student Safety Representatives at Gaggle, and how they cope with what they see while trying to keep the Internet clean.
Gaggle has been recognized twice by Tech & Learning magazine’s prestigious Awards of Excellence. Gaggle’s new School & District Websites product won an Award of Excellence for Best New Product and the Gaggle Safe Classroom Learning Management System (LMS) won an Award of Excellence for Best Upgraded Product.
When schools implement Office 365 productivity software, district technology departments must ensure safe adoption and use for students and teachers. To help technology facilitators and school administrators ensure safety for all users, Gaggle has created a new ebook, “How to Safely Adopt Office 365 into Your School.”
Gaggle continues to expand its professional development and training options. Schools or districts using Google Apps for Education or Office 365 now can receive onsite or webinar training. In addition, two Gaggle trainers spent the summer obtaining new certifications.
To further ensure the protection of student data, Gaggle has successfully completed a Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) Type 1 report after undergoing a thorough audit conducted by NDB, an independent auditing and accounting firm. The security audit included a rigorous evaluation of all of Gaggle’s relevant processes, procedures and controls for data security, availability and privacy.
Together with Amplified IT, Gaggle has created a new ebook, “12 Ways to Safely Adopt Google Apps into Your School.” Gaggle also has created a Google Apps for Education Safety Audit so both teachers and administrators can find out if they’re doing everything possible to improve the safety and security of their students.
